The nose is beautifully built, elegant, gourmand and offers a beautiful ripe fruit, a certain controlled power and a fine complexity. It reveals notes of violet, pulpy blackberry and small notes of small bright blue fruits associated with touches of crushed raspberry as well as fine hints of sichaun pepper, violet, lily, very discreet hints of almond and fresh vanilla pod. The palate is fruity, an aerial side in the approach, elegant, fresh and offers minerality, a beautiful definition, a pulpy/fleshy fruit, a fine creaminess as well as a fine/elegant grain, gourmandize and a beautiful freshness.

The wines of Château Montlabert play on elegance rather than power. Throughout this complex and precise score that the blending represents, the characteristic notes of the cabernet franc and merlot gracefully intertwine. It shows a refined structure, a controlled natural acidity, a lovely texture on the mid-palate, an aromatic and tannic elegance. In these wines, the merlot often reveals an almost Pomerolian softness, its roots drawing deep down into the veins of blue clay.

Tasting notes: Ruby red with carmen reflections. The nose is characteristic of the domaine's wines with powerful aromas of black fruits and vanilla combined with roasted notes. Dense and full-bodied palate with excellent balance. The tannins are well-structured and the finish is very persistent.

The Château du Tertre is a blend of 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc, 12% Petit Verdot and 10% Merlot picked from 26 September until 16 October. It has a slightly more opulent nose than the Giscours at the moment with red plum and crushed strawberry fruit, a slight gravel accent coming through with aeration.

At the tasting, this second wine expresses all its freshness and finesse, with certainly less power than its big brother, but with an expulsion of much younger fruit which allows to have a wine at its peak earlier.

Today, Jean CHANFREAU, accompanied by his wife Marie-Hélène, his sister Caroline Chanfreau-Philippon, his niece Marion and his two sons, Guillaume and Loïc live this vineyard with passion.

The grape varieties cultivated on the estate are typical of the Médoc and express perfectly our terroirs from Listrac: Cabernet Sauvignon is the soul of our wines with its aromas of black fruits, its impetuousness and its structure. Merlot, brings fruity, unctuousness and greediness. Petit Verdot delivers intense color and spicy notes.

This Medoc, round and racy, is widely recognized by his peers, classified Cru Bourgeois Superior in 1932 and 2003,  member of the Alliance of Cru Bourgeois Médoc, member of the Union des Grands Crus Bordeaux.

Château de Goëlane is an easy-to-drink, fruit-forward red. The cherry and dark fruit aromas that dominate the nose are equally present on the palate, along with an ample, fleshy mouthfeel.
