This is matured for between 8 and 12 years in a selection of Troncais and Limousin oak barrels. The Courvoisier brandy used in this bottling is sourced from the two premier regions of Cognac - the Grande Champagne and the Petite Champagne regions.

Everyone uses a 25hL still during their second distillation, but Courvoisier uses 25 hectoliter stills during both distillations. Why? This maximizes the contact between copper and eau-de-vie which helps to remove all impurities from the liquid and makes the liquid very aromatic.
